Logan Bentley is an American journalist who has lived and worked in Italy for many years as reporter and photographer for many publications. She is Italian editor for the "Courvoisier Book of the Best" and a contributor to the Italian section of "Born to Shop".
This guide was compiled with the help of her super-shopper daughter Barbara Lessona who is as demanding as they come and can spot a good buy at a hundred yards.

About Made*In*Italy*On*Line

Made*In*Italy*On*Line was born in December, 1994, when Logan Bentley Lessona, a reporter and photographer who has worked for over 20 years for Time< Magazine, People, Life, the New York Daily News, Autoweek, Christian Science Monitor, Corriere della Sera, Autosprint, Rombo, International Herald Tribune, and other publications, created the first "virtual" art gallery web in Italy in conjunction with the participation from Rome in the first "First Night in Cyberspace". It was held in an art gallery on Via Margutta on New Year's Eve on January 31, 1994. The success of the event and the excitement and satisfaction of creating this web, one of the first in Italy, induced her to create the first web on Internet dedicated to fashion. Fashion & Design offers pages with useful information including lists and links where available to designers, manufacturers, and other information on the subject. It was officiallly presented at the Milan fashion collections on March 1, 1995. Regular newsletters offer news and comment on the Italian fashion scene. In response to many requests Bentley's Shopping Guide to Italy has been added and other features are planned.
Made*In*Italy*On*Line was created as a showplace for the best that Italy has to offer. In November, 1995, the second web, (Wine & Food) was presented. Wine & Food offers a panorama of Italian food with an introduction by Marcella Hazan, the woman who converted Americans to the wonders of genuine Italian cooking, and a guide to Italian wine with an introduction by author Victor Hazan. Travel and Fun is presently under construction and will bring viewers the fun things to do and see in Italy that you don't find in most guidebooks such as agriturism, spas, ballooning, staying in convents, lessons, and walking and horseback riding tours.
Our logs show that more than three million individuals consulted our webs in 1999, with the numbers on the increase. We receive E-mail from all over the world from people who want to do business with Italy, creating new markets for "Made in Italy". Our six-year presence on the web means that we have been indexed by the major search engines. Made*In*Italy*On*Line also provides complete services for public relations, press offices, translations, shopping services, and organization of conventions with all services provided including hostesses, publicity, locations and catering. We create webs to order, offering a complete service including marketing and publicizing the web in Italy and abroad. Other Activities
Since April, 1994, Logan Bentley has worked to further the use and understanding of Internet in Italy doing press work for one of Italy's leading providers, McLink in 1994, appearing as official "Net Navigator" on Unomattina, the Italian State TV equivalent of the Today Show, and organizing public events for Telecom Italia (Italian state phone company) such as First Night in Cyberspace, La Befana in Cyberspace, and Nature in Cyberspace. For these efforts she earned the nickname "Lady Internet" along with considerable coverage in Italian press, TV, and radio. She has also written articles about the net for the Italian magazine "Internet News".
