Didn't bring your laptop with you? Want to check your E-mail? Feeling withdrawl pains for the Net? Here's a list of Cyber Cafes in the larger cities of Italy where you can pay to surf, even for just an hour. Hours, phone numbers, prices, etc. have been checked but we'd appreciate it if you would let us know of any errors, as well as any nice places you find in Italy that we have not listed. The Euro is now the official currency in Italy, the exchange rate is around 1 Euro - 90 cents.

Rome
- Easy Internet Cafe
- Via Barberini 2, just off Piazza Barberini. This is the biggest place in Rome, with 350 stations, connected with fibre optics, ALWAYS open 24/7 (very unusual in Italy!). It is located downtown, on the main bus lines, within walking distance from Piazza di Spagna (Spanish Steps). This chain has cafes all over Europe. Price: depending on the time, 1 Euro (about 90 cents) will buy you from 1/2 hour to 2 1/2 hours time on the computer. There's a bar with drinks and snacks which you can take to the computer. If you want to save mail or other material you can fill a floppy disk for 3 Euro. Tel: 39-06-42903388.

- Via dei Fienaroli 23 (Trastevere), is also a bookstore and cultural association, they serve brunch every day, courses offered in Internet. Hours: 11-midnight, Price: 50,000 lire for 10 hours.

- Freedom Traveller Internet Point

Hours: Monday-Friday 9-2, Saturday and Sunday 17-2. Price: until 9pm 8,000 lire an hour, half hour 5,000 lire, after 9pm 10,000 lire an hour, 6,000 lire half hour (Subscription, 70,000 for 10 hours).

They even have special offers. Hours: 9-19:30 every day. Price: 12,000 lire an hour, 50,000 for five hours, 90,000 for ten hours.
