Italian Public Relations Agencies
The boom of Italian fashion on the international scene, along with ever evolving modes of communication, has brought the rapid growth of fashion PR agencies to Italy. The country is particularly well-suited to hosting elaborate affairs and staging unprecedented events given the fantastic settings available everywhere one turns. Secret gardens, medieval structures, private castles, and expansive warehouses are all venues at an Italian PR agency’s disposal. LEADERS OF ITALIAN FASHION PR
The public still does not know much about what lies behind public relations campaigns, but we do know they are successful in spreading brand notoriety worldwide. In our everyday life we are surrounded by posters, television and radio commercials, and advertisement campaigns for specific products in magazines and newspapers. Advertisement campaigns and promotional events are fundamental for a fashion house to be successful internationally, and Italian PR firms are recognized to be among the top in the world in making this success a reality.
That of the fashion publicist, or PR agent, is a relatively recent profession. The first Italian names on the fashion PR system began to appear in the 1970s. Obviously, publicity and advertisement strategies already existed but the international success reached during these years by Italian fashion houses contributed to the success of fashion PR companies, and vice versa. One of the pioneers of Italian PR consulting is Beppe Modenese, current honorary President of the Italian fashion chamber of commerce. His work has earned him the title “Italian fashion’s Prime Minister” – given to him by Women’s Wear Daily and recognizing Modenese for his exportation of the Made in Italy ideal.
Modenese was also the source of inspiration for many who came after him, such as Marta Godi, the head of Guitar Advertising & PR, one of the best Italian fashion PR agencies. The services offered by her PR firm range from organizing events to advertisement campaigns, like any fashion PR company, but her approach has been recognized as highly innovative.
Other notable Italian PR agencies include Attila & Co. hired by Salvatore Ferragamo, as well as by the Italian fashion association AltaRoma. The Camera Nazionale della Moda relies on the Italian PR agency Equipe to promote its public image. A winning PR strategy is the key to the success of any firm’s image, and Italian PR companies have proven success in the realm of fashion.
