Torta Fregoletta (Almond Tart)

Torta fregoletta is a traditional dessert from the Trentino Alto Adige region of Italy.

Ingredients for 4 people:

  • 300 grams of almonds
  • 300 grams of white flour
  • 300 grams of sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • Some butter
  • Some liquid whipping cream
  • Salt

Preparation:

Boil the almonds, peel than and grind them with a mortar and pestle, adding the sugar bit by bit. Add the flour, a pinch of salt and the two egg yolks, blend them well, adding a dash of whipping cream. Spread in a well-buttered baking pan (preferably round). Place in the oven headted to 180 degrees (C) until it turns a golden color.
